Developments:
On November 26, I will be leaving for West Africa, where I will be spending six months in Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone and Burkina Faso, writing a travel book about the world's poorest countries. I will also be blogging about my experiences for the Guardian and for Global Dashboard. Links to these posts will appear on this site, whenever I can find a functioning internet cafe (easier said than done in countries like Guinea-Bissau which have no mains electricity!).
